~ April greeted me with a hummingbird + nest. I noticed a hummingbird fly out of a tree in the backyard, found it curious and decided to take a closer look. Sure enough, there was a small nest there that looked incomplete. I wasn't sure if the nest was damaged at first because of all the heavy rain we've received, so I checked on the nest again today and it was bigger!
This isn't the first time I've seen a hummingbird in our backyard. They've always been there, from the time we moved here several years ago. And they have built nests in different areas of the yard, mainly it was the same tree year after year and one year we spotted a nest on top of one of our wind chimes. That particular nest was definitely unique.
I've also had a hummingbird just sort of float in place right in front of me, as if instead of me studying it, it was studying me. This happened again to hubby who was walking our senior dog, Maya, in the backyard. I think in this case, the hummingbird was annoyed that hubby kept walking by the tree with its nest in it.
~ Looks like April greeted me with two noticeable events. In the evening, we had a small earthquake, about 4.2. Nothing like sitting in bed, relaxed, and feeling the house rumble.
